ARTIST'S BIO

Working as in independent artist/illustrator from his home studio in Colorado, Tim accepts projects and commissions through his private company, Autumn Star.

Gifted with a natural talent for drawing, Tim has been an illustrator all his life. He's used canvas and camel's hair, artboard and airbrush, digital tablets and pixels -- whatever tools necessary to craft his artistic vision.

And his artwork has kept company with fame. A portrait of Isaac Asimov graced the late author’s Manhattan workplace and an illustration created for Anne McCaffrey hangs in that author’s home in Ireland. Thank-you notes for other art have come from Mercury astronaut Scott Carpenter and the late astronomer Carl Sagan.

Actors Patrick Stewart, Peter Jurasik, Kevin Sorbo, Andy Robinson, Erin Gray, Sean Astin, Michael Rosenbaum and Zachary Quinto all own portraits of their characters done by Mr. Kuzniar.

Tim’s astronomical and space art hangs in a number of planetariums, museums and other institutions, including NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Tim’s works have also appeared in exhibitions at the High Museum of Art, Atlanta, Georgia; the NASA Lewis Research Center, Cleveland, Ohio; SpaceWeek at the NASA Johnson Space Center, Houston, Texas as well as professional science, education and artistic conferences in Washington - DC, Vancouver - BC, Tucson, Chicago, Baltimore, St. Louis, Portland, Seattle, Orlando, and Tampa.

Tim has also embraced the realms of science fiction and fantasy adventure. His art has appeared in showings at SF&F conventions in Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Florida, Denver and Pasadena. Tim’s ink-sketch and color portraits of film and television characters as well as renderings of both imaginary SF spacecraft and actual real-space hardware have garnered a raft of First Place and special Judges Choice awards at Denver’s annual STARFEST conventions.

And while this website is new,
Mr. Kuzniar has been marketing his artwork, illustrations and graphics to both the private and public sectors for over two decades. His clients include school districts, colleges, museums and planetariums throughout the U.S., Canada and overseas. Tim has designed and constructed scale models for special effects production, created 3-Dimensional display models for educational and business concerns, and realized detailed fine art sculpture for corporate as well as private patrons.
